Nigeria’s Dream team Captain Azubuike Okechukwu has hinted that the Imama Amakapabo boys will go all out for victory when they meet Sudan for the first leg of their 2020 Tokyo Olympic qualifiers.
The Atlanta 1996 Olympic gold medalist will travel to Sudan for the first meeting on Thursday, September 5th, before welcoming the Sudanese to Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba for the second leg days later.
Speaking ahead of the game, Azubuike who set to arrive Abuja on Monday in preparation for the game, said the team is ready for the crunch tie and needs the support of Nigerians to excel.
“Playing against Sudan on their ground is not going to be easy at all. But I am confident of the quality of the players in this team and with hard work in training and on the field of play in both matches, I believe we will qualify.”
“But we need to work hard and try to win the first leg in Sudan to make the return leg easy for us. So we are going for victory in Sudan but it’s not going to be easy. We need the support and prayers of Nigerians so that we can achieve victory over there”, he concluded.
