South Africa head Coach Stuart Baxter has described his side’s 1-1 draw against Nigeria as a bitter sweet outcome as Bafana Bafana continue to chase qualification for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
South Africa fought back after conceding an early, first half goal to level through Lebo Mothiba and Baxter praised his wards for picking four points in the group against “the Super Eagles”.
‘I’m disappointed and I’m satisfied. We got four points off the Super Eagles. The only goal we’ve conceded so far was an owngoal,’ Baxter said.
The 1996 African Champions will now wait until their last group E match against third placed Libya; who are a point behind, to know if they’ll qualify for next year’s tournament.
