Nasarawa United head Coach, Bala Nikyu expressed relief after his team ended the first half of the NPFL season with a win against Remo Stars.
The team beat Remo Stars 2-0, to record back to back wins for the first time this season.
Nasarawa United moved up to 8th place in Group A; one point above the drop zone, after taking six points from their last three games.
“It’s a good result for us, even though we didn’t start the league as expected,”Nikyu said.
“The back-to-back home win isn’t surprising to us. Two seasons ago, we maintained our second position on the league table until the last day of the league; it’s quite unfortunate that we are where we are for now.
“However, we still have the believe that the second round will be favourable to us.”
The tactician also revealed plans to beef up the squad ahead of the League’s restart.
“We have plans to strengthen the team during the break in order to up our game in the second phase of the league season.
The Solid Miners have played their home games at the New Jos Stadium, while the Lafia Township Stadium is undergoing renovation.
“In all honesty, Jos has been a wonderful home away from home for us, and even if we return back to our original home ground, we will still cherish every moment we have spent here,” He said.
