Champions Elephants of Lagos will look to retain their title when they play Dolphins in the final of the Women’s League National Final 6 on Wednesday.
The Elephant ladies were too much to handle for the Customs as they out-score them by 73points to 44 and dominated the whole 4 quarters 19-14, 18-18, 23-10 and 14-10.
Elephants star performers on the day were Nkechi Akashili who scored dropped 20 points, 7 assists and 4 rebounds and Okoro Ifunanya also recorded 14points and 5 rebounds after coming in as a substitute.
Meanwhile Dolphins, on the other hand, ended the fantasy run of MFM with a comprehensive victory of 57-44 points.
Dolphin’s Bintu Badmus who saw action for 32 minutes scored 19points, 2 assists and 9 rebounds to lead her team to the final, while Fumnanya Ijeh also contributed 10 points and 5 assists.
MFM will play Customs in the 3rd place playoff at 12 pm on Wednesday, while Dolphins will face defending champions, Elephant in the final of Women’s League National Final 6.
Elephants and Dolphins will represent Nigeria in the 2018 FIBA Africa Women Club Championship.
