Calvin Bassey endured another frustrating outing for Ajax in the Eredivisie match against rivals, PSV Eindhoven, this Sunday.

The Nigerian was given as rare start as he replaced suspended Edson Alvarez in the heart of defense at the Philips Stadium.

Bassey lasted for just 45 minutes as he hauled off by coach Johnny Heitinga with Ajax trailing 1-0.

Before his substitution, the 23-year-old had given away two fouls, although he completed thirty nine of passes.

Dutch youth international forward Brian Brobbey took his place on the pitch, but couldn’t save the Champions from defeat.

PSV got two more goals in the second half to seal a 3-0 win and opened a three points lead over Ajax in the race for Champions League qualification.
