Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey endured a poor start to life in Netherlands s he was shown a red card in his debut for Ajax Amsterdam.
Bassey was was sent off in the Dutch Super Cup clash against bitter rivals PSV on Saturday.
The highly rated Nigerian who signed for the club this summer started the game from the bench but was in the 66th minute for Owen Wijndal.
However, the 22-year-old last only seven minutes on the pitch as he was sent packing for dangerous play.
Bassey lunged a dangerous tackle on Ismael Saibari. He was initially shown a yellow card but after a subsequent VAR review, he was shown a red card.
Ajax however went on to lose the game 5-3, as PSV walked away with the shield.
