Holders Bayelsa Queens have given themselves the chance to defend their NWPL crown, following a 2-2 draw against Nasarawa Amazons to climb back on top of Group C.
Bayelsa Queens finished top of their group with 11 points, knocking down Sunshine Queens, who had defeated Kaduna Queens 2-0 to hold top stop temporarily on Wednesday.
On Thursday, at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenogoa the league holders and Aiteo Cup winners locked horns – after their game was postponed for 24 hours due to heavy downpour.
Four first half goals; two from each team settled the tie and decided first and third places in the group.
The league champions thus join Confluence Queens and Adamawa Queens in the Super Four as they await the final bracket to be filled by any of Rivers Angels, Delta Queens of FC Robo.
Meanwhile, the relegation playoff games will involve Osun Babes FC, Invincible Angels, Dream Stars Ladies and Kaduna Queens.
Two teams will retain their NWPL status, while two will drop to the lower division.
