Bayelsa Queens Defender Rihanat Kasali says they aren’t resting on their oars after picking the first win at the ongoing CAF Women’s Champions League.
The Prosperity Girls defeated TP Mazembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo 2-0 at the Stade de Marrakech in Morocco on Thursday.
Following the victory, the Nigerian women’s Champions rose to second on the table, with three points and a victory against Wadi Degla Ladies FC of Egypt on Sunday will seal a semi-final ticket.
“We are excited about yesterday’s game because it brings a form of relief to us after losing to Mamelodi Sundowns in the first game.
“For us, the game is gone and we are now focused on our last group game, against Wadi Degla. The Egyptian team is the good side and we have to keep ourselves intact, so as to win and qualify for the Semifinals.
“We are ready mentally and physically and that says a lot about how the game is going to go on Sunday.” She said.
A victory for Bayelsa Queens means they’ll become the first Nigerian side to make it to the semi-final of the money-spinning tournament.
