Belgian Police to Prosecute fans who racially abused Orban

The twitter users who racially abused Gift Orban has been identified, his club KAA Gent confirmed.

Orban suffered the abuse during Gent’s game against Cercle Brugge eight days ago.

 

 

The 20-year-old smashed a ball against the cross back from the kick-off of the second half, and sparked dark response the Twitter user.

The Buffalos frowned at the abuse and reported the case to the authority for investigation.

“KAA Gent and our foundation do not give in to racism. These distasteful reactions have been reported and reported to the appropriate authorities. There will also be a complaint to the police,” Gent said at the time.

The club however provided latest up date on Tuesday, while also showing support for Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr who was abused by Valencia fans on Sunday.

 

 

 

The Statement read:

“The person who made racist remarks online towards Orban has been identified. Whether you’re Vinicius Jr., Gift Orban, or anyone else, we’re not letting this pass.

“The person has now been identified by the police and the file has been handed over to the public prosecutor’s office.”
