Super Eagles captain, Mikel Obi believes Nigeria can progress from their World Cup group and go on to achieve something great, but insists it rests on the entire team giving 100 percent.
Nigeria are housed in group D alongside Argentina, Croatia and Iceland, but Mikel is unfazed by the threat these teams pose as long as the Eagles rise to the occasion.
‘ We’re in a group where we can achieve something. We’ve got to give it our all if we want to beat Argentina, Iceland and Croatia,’ the 31-year-old midfielder stressed.
The Three-time African champions have not progressed beyond the second stage of the tournament, but there is real optimism that Nigeria, who are presenting one of the youngest squads in Russia, could break that jinx in 2018.
