Alex Iwobi continued his impressive run of form for Frank Lampard’s Everton as he produced another good performance against Manchester United on Sunday.
Iwobi was a delight to watch on the day, despite the Toffees losing 1-2 to the Erik Ten Hag’s men at the Goodison Park.
The Nigerian grabbed the first goal of the game in spectacular fashion, just five minutes into the encounter.
Iwobi collected a pass from Demarai Gray on the edge of the box and took his time, before curling the ball past the outstretched arms of David de Gea to give Everton the lead.
It was Iwobi’s first league goal of the season, after assisting in his last three matches for the Toffees.
However, Brazilian winger Antony restored parity for Manchester United in the 15th minute.
Just before the break, substitute Cristiano Ronaldo scored a historic goal in the 44th minute to put the visitors ahead, after Iwobi was dispossessed by Casemiro.
Iwobi had 64 touches of the ball, completed 31 passes with 72.1% accuracy. He also played two (2) key passes, put in six (6) crosses, two (2) long balls, and had four (4) dribble attempts.
The 26 year-old also won two (2) of the five (5) duels he contested, had two (2) interceptions and one (1) tackle.
He’ll be the man to watch when Everton take on Tottenham on Saturday, October 15.
