The Super Eagles of Nigeria now lead Group L of the African Cup of Nations qualifiers with just a point after the Benin Republic defeated Lesotho on Saturday.
The Squirrel of Benin Republic defeat hosted Lesotho at the Stade Charles de Gaulle and they secured hard fought 1 – 0 win over their visitors.
The victory took Benin Republic to six points on Group L table topper, just a point behind Nigeria who surrendered four goals to draw 4 – 4 at home to Sierra Leone on Friday.
Dossou scored the only goal in the 24th minute of the encounter and they will be hoping to pile more pressure on Super Eagles when they travel to Lesotho on Tuesday.
In the other group game, the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone will play host to Nigeria in Freetown also on Tuesday.
