Bernard Ogbe quits as Niger Tornadoes head coach

Bernard Ogbe has left his position as the technical adviser of Nigeria Professional Football League side Niger Tornadoes after just six games in the new season.

The experienced tactician tendered his resignation letter to the Club chairman immediately after the team’s 3-1 away loss to  Katsina United in the Nigeria Professional Football League matchday 6 on Sunday.

It would be recalled that the management of team gave Ogbe five-match ultimatum to turn the Club’s season around or face sack and that has failed to motivate the team as they had recorded back to back losses to  Rangers and Katsina United.

However, a source close to team Taiwo Adigun Hassan revealed the tactician met the vice chairman Comrade Bello Auta, club secretary Aliyu Muazu and Welfare officer Awwalu Baba Idris to explain his situations before leaving the stadium after the game.

“I have already informed the club officials before the match, that whatever happens after this match I will tender my resignation letter,” Ogbe said.

The vice chairman Comrade Bello Auta confirmed the gaffer resignation as he wishes him all the best in his future.

“Coach Bernard Ogbe just inform us now that he has resigned his appointment as the technical adviser of the club”

“We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavor”

Niger Tornadoes are winless after six games into the new season with three draws and defeats.

Bernard Ogbe joined Niger Tornadoes at the beginning from Mighty Jets.
