Coach Kennedy Boboye says he is excited with Akwa United’s 2-0 win over neighbors Dakkada FC on Sunday.
The Promise Keepers overcame rivals Dakkada FC to keep them their lead on the Nigeria professional football league table.
Boboye’s have also stretched their unbeaten run in the domestic league to eleven, winning seven and drawing four.
The first meeting between Akwa United and Dakkada FC ended in goalless draw, but Charles Atshimene handed his side bragging right by netting a brace.
Speaking with the media, Head Coach Kennedy Boboye congratulated his players on hard earned victory, but charged them to focus on the next game against Rangers International.
“I’m excited about this particular result and I want to really expressmy appreciation to my players for getting the tough job donebecause it wasn’t an easy game.
“The difference was that we were able to take our chances and wedid it quite early into the game and after the restart. This is onevictory that will certainly encourage and motivate us for the taskahead.
“As far as we are concerned, this game is done and dusted and ourattention is now on our next game against Enugu Rangers. Theseason is becoming more interesting and competitive, and we needto be on top of our game in all our remaining matches to ensure weachieve our primary target this season”. He said.
