Boboye rues missed chances against Kwara United

Kennedy Boboye says he is satisfied with his team’s 1-1 draw with Kwara, but admitted they should have done better.

Akwa United fought back from a goal down to secure a vital point at the Ilorin Township stadium.

 

Christopher Nwanze gave the Harmony Boys the lead in the 62nd minute from the penalty spot, but Akwa United restored parity after Nwanze diverted Ubong Friday’s header into his own net minutes later.

 

The visitors wasted several opportunities to take the lead, striker Ndifreke Effiong missed two clear cut chances.

 

Reacting to the his side’s performance, Coach Boboye praised the players for  a good game but rued the missed chances.

 

“We came here with the intention of picking maximum points, but we are happy that we have been able to get something out of this game,” said the Coach.

 

“This point is very vital and will help improve our confidence level going forward.”
