Victor Boniface was given a cameo appearance in Royale Union Saint-Gilloise’s 2-1 league win over Seraing on Sunday evening.

Boniface, hero of the UEFA Europa League first-leg,.quarter final match against Beyer Leverkusen was preserved by his manager,.with the second-leg of the encounter around the corner.

However, the forward came on for the final three minutes, with Union Saint Gilloise already leading 2-1 Stade Joseph Marien.

The 22-year-old striker managed a shot, before the referee blew the final whistle and brought the match to an end.

Victor Boniface is joint top scorer in the Europa League with six goals, and he’s expected to back in the starting 11 when Union Saint-Gilloise host Beyer Leverkusen on Thursday.

The first leg ended 1-1 at the Bay Arena.
