Former German Bundesliga champions, Borussia Dortmund are interested Union Berlin’s forward Taiwo Awoniyi, according to reports.
Reports from Germany claim the Nigerian forward has been penciled down as a replacement possible for Erling Haaland, should the Norwegian leave in the summer transfer window.
Haaland has been linked with moves to Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, and Chelsea in the past, and it is understood the clubs are ready to rekindle their chase in the summer.
Dortmund have made it clear, they won’t stand in the way of the Norwegian, should he want to, and have quickly lined up Awoniyi to succeed him.
The Nigerian has scored nine goals in Bundesliga this season and 14 goals in all competitions.
The 24-year-old former Liverpool arrived at Union Berlin in a €6million deal last summer and is currently valued at €30m by his club.
