BREAKING! Mikel terminates contract with Chinese club Tianjin Teda

Super Eagles Captain John Obi Mikel has left Chinese Super League side Tianjin Teda with two seasons into the three years contract he signed with the Club back in 2016.

It is understood that the Former Chelsea midfielder reached an agreement with the Club to cancel his contrat after helping them to retain their elite division status last season.

The UEFA champions league winner was not in the traveling teamfor pre-season training in Spain and confirmed his exit in an interview with Tianjin TV Sports New Visionprogram:

”I broke the contract with the club, which means I will leave Teda. As for my next stop, I am not sure yet, maybe I will return to Europe, maybe stay in China,” Mikel said.

”Anyway, I would like to wish the TEDA team good luck next season.”

Mikel signed a three-year contract with Teda in January 2017, scoring three goals and assisted three in 31 appearances.
