Brendan Rodgers heap praises on ‘seniorman’ Kelechi Iheanacho

Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers showers praise on Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho after netting another match-winner for Leicester City on Monday.

Iheanacho continues his impressive streak as he scored one and created another to lead Leicester City to a 2-1 home win over spirited Crystal Palace.

The visitors had their noses in front inside the opening 12 minutes after Wilfred Zaha converted a delightful through pass from Eberechi Eze in the first half.

Leicester City leveled five minutes after the restart when Iheanacho capitalized on a defensive mistake from Cheikhou Kouyate and rolled the ball into the path of Timothy Castagne, who curled his first home Leicester goal into the top corner past Guaita.

The Nigerian emphatically however riffles in his 14th goal in 14 games in all competitions to complete the turnaround 10 minutes from time.

Speaking after the game, Rodgers was full of praises for the Nigerian who has now scored ten league goals in the premier league for the first time.

“Kelechi is a talented player. Over the last few months, he’s been absolutely incredible. It wasn’t just his goal tonight but his work rate, he wants to press the game. He has no ego whatsoever and he works so hard.” he told the press.

“Over the last few months he’s been absolutely incredible, Kelechi’s goal was sheer, sheer quality, his touch to come inside and then to take the shot so early, it was a brilliant finish.”
