Super Eagles Midfielder Frank Onyeka is set to join Sky Bet Championship club Middlesbrough on loan.
The midfielder has failed to live up to expectations since his move from Belgian side FC Midtjylland last summer.
Onyeka signed for Brentford for a record fee of €10m last summer and played made 21 appearances in the Premier League for the Bees last season.
However, loss of form and injury cost him his place in the squad and had only seen ten minutes of action in four Premier League games this season.
It is understood that Middleborough likes the player and Brentford manager Thomas Frank has given his blessings for a loan switch.
Boro have now opened talks with the player ahead of a proposed season-long loan deal, as the Teessiders look to get the player signed ahead of the transfer deadline later this week.
