Jordan Torunarigha is a familiar name among Nigerian football fans, apparently.
The Junge born in Germany turned down the chance to play for Nigeria’s senior Men’s National Team, Super Eagles, a couple of years back.
Why did he though? Jordan said he didn’t feel there was enough connection – besides both his parents being Nigerians of course.
He had never been to the Country – plans to do so when the season ends. Neither has he had contact with the Culture or people in a way that can inspire a real connection for a professional athlete who has to commit his future.
But, Jordan isn’t unfamiliar with Nigerian culture and the fastest & easiest route to becoming acculturized is Music.
Nigerian Misic has been such a big Influence on his life; from childhood, thanks to his Ex footballer father, Ojokojo, who indoctrinated the young Jordan.
Tunes from Fela, the Afrobeat Legend, are on repeat in the household and today, Jordan even has a tattoo of Abami Eda on his right forearm.
