Super Falcon Captain Asisat Oshoala has played down the reports making round in the media over how she was snubbed at the CAF award by Nigerians who are eligible to vote.
The five Nigerians voters failed to pick the Barcelona forward as their first-choice candidate for the award, and infuriated Nigerians took to the social media to criticize the voters, including Veteran Perpetua Nkwocha.
While reacting to the issue, Oshoala, however, said she’s not losing sleep over the people who failed to vote for her and maintained that her main focus is helping Barcelona and Super falcons achieve their objectives this year.
“For me, I don’t think that anyone should be obligated to vote for anyone,” Oshoala told Goal.com.
“If you think you want to vote for me, it’s fine. I am not the first player this will happen to.
“The only thing in my head right now is about how to help my team to win a lot of laurels as much as we can this year. We have the Spanish Cup game, the league, and the Champions League.
“I also have the African Women’s Cup of Nations. So, I think there is a lot to worry about than thinking of winning the African Women’s Player of the Year in 2020.” She concluded.
