CAF CL: Akpeyi keeps clean sheet in Kaizer Chiefs win over Petro de Luanda

Super Eagles keeper Daniel Akpeyi was in action for Kaizer Chiefs in their CAF Champions League group match against Petro de Luanda on Saturday night.

Akpeyi kept a clean sheet in the match as Kaizer Chiefs ran away 2-0 winners over their visitors at the Moses Madiba stadium.

The Amakhosi broke the deadlock with Eric Mathoho’s close-range header in the 30th minute.

Happy Mashiane later wrapped up the three points for Kaizer Chiefs in the 79th minutes of the encounter with a low strike that went into the bottom corner.

It was Kazer Chiefs’ first victory in Group of this season’s CAF Champions League, they lost the first game to leader Wydad Casablanca and drew against Horoya of Guinea.

Kaizer Chiefs are now third in Group C with 4 points from three matches and a win in their reverse fixture next week could move them to the second spot.
