Super Eagles sensation Victor Osimhen has secured a spot among the top 10 nominees for the prestigious CAF Player of the Year Award.

The 24-year-old, who dazzled with an impressive campaign at Napoli last season, notching 31 goals across all competitions and contributing to the club’s historic Scudetto victory after 33 years, now faces stiff competition.

Osimhen finds himself in a formidable duel with illustrious contenders, including the reigning Player of the Year Sadio Mane, and former winner Mohamed Salah, along with eight other exceptional players vying for the continent’s football pinnacle.

This nomination comes on the heels of CAF’s earlier release of a 30-player list for the CAF POTY awards in November, where Osimhen had already made a significant mark.

The condensed list of 10 finalists comprises Anguissa Anguissa, Riyad Mahrez, Vincent Aboubakar, Achraf Hakimi, Yacine, Sofyan Amrabat, Achraf Hakimi, Yassine Bounou, and Youssef En-Nesyri.

The ultimate recipient of this esteemed award will be determined through votes cast by a distinguished panel, including members of the CAF Technical Committee, esteemed media professionals, and the Head Coaches and Captains of Member Associations.
