CAFCC: Rivers United ready for Futoro Kings showdown – Ifeanyi Anaemena

Defender, Ifeanyi Anaemena said Rivers United are ready for the match against Futuro Kings of Equatorial Guinea in Saturday’s CAF Confederation’s cup preliminary round 1st leg match.

 

Rivers United left the shore of Nigeria aboard a chartered flight from Port Harcourt to Malabo, before heading to Mongomo, the venue of the match.

 

Coach Stanley Eguma and his technical team lead a total of 20 players and the backroom staff to a showdown in a bid to get positive results ahead of the return leg in Nigeria.

 

The Pride of Rivers had their first official training at the Estadio de Mongomo Stadium (the venue of Saturday’s match) Friday afternoon.

 

In a chat with brila.net from the team’s camp this morning, defender Ifeanyi Anaemena said the team is ready for the game.

 

” We are getting ready for today’s game and we are confident of good results,” he told brila.net.

 

It’s going to be a good season for us, and it is our first outing on the continent this term. ”

 

” By God’s grace, we are going to get good results and hopefully finish the job in Nigeria.”

 

” The continental matches are very important to us, so we targetting qualification to next preliminary and hopefully the group stage” he concluded.

 

Saturday’s match will kick off at 3:30 pm local time (4 pm Nigeria time).
