Nigerian champions Lobi Stars were on Saturday spanked 3-0 by South Africa’s in a Group A Caf Champions League match played in Pretoria.
Thapelo Morena, Themba Zwane and Lebohang Maboe netted the goals that gave the South African side the win which confirmed their place in the quarter-finals.
The Brazilians, as they are fondly called, headed into the game level on seven points with Wydad Casablanca and Asec Mimosas; while the Pride of Benue needed a win to revive their hopes of reaching the knock-out phase of the continent’s biggest club competition.
But that was not meant to be as Lobi’s competitive ride in the competition ended with a game to spare.
