Calvin Bassey gets Minutes off the Bench in Ajax win against Sparta Rotterdam

Calvin Bassey came off the bench to help his side keep a clean sheet in Ajax 4-nil Victory against Sparta Rotterdam.

Ajax took the lead early as Dusan Tadic found the back of the net in just 6 minutes before Kenneth Taylor doubled the advantage for the host 20 minutes later.

Tadic then scored his second from the spot kick in the 65 minute to give his side a three goal cushion.

Calvin Bassey was introduced in the 70th minute and was instrumental as Ajax defended the lead while Sparta Rotterdam surged for a reply.

Despite the visitors best effort it was Ajax that scored again through Mohammed Kudus in the 84th minute to wrap up proceedings for the host and make it five straight victory in the league since the sacking of Alfred Schreuder.

Bassey will be hoping his performance gets him back into the starting line up as he has been finding a breakthrough difficulty under new coach John Heitinga.
