The Super Eagles’ camp is officially open in Kigali as players and staff continue to arrive ahead of Nigeria’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda on Friday.
The Nigerian delegation was received in Kigali the Ambassador of Nigeria to Rwanda, highlighting the significance of the fixture as the team looks to get its qualification campaign back on track.
Early Arrivals in Camp

Several key players have already touched down in Kigali, with more expected to join soon.
Among the early arrivals is Victor Osimhen, who is in red-hot form after scoring a hat-trick for Galatasaray against Antalyaspor just three days ago.
Also present in camp are Bruno Onyemaechi (Olympiacos), Toluwalase Arokodare (Genk), and Amas Obasogie, the goalkeeper from Singida Black Stars.
Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) stars Kayode Bankole (Remo Stars) and Papa Daniel Mustapha (Niger Tornadoes) have also reported for national duty.
Awaiting the Full Squad
The Super Eagles are still expecting 17 more players to arrive before training sessions can fully commence.
Some of the big names yet to join the squad include William Troost-Ekong, Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina, Samuel Chukwueze, and Wilfred Ndidi, all of whom are set to link up with the team soon.
Coaching Staff in Kigali

Alongside head coach, Eric Chelle, the technical crew includes Daniel Ogunmodede, head coach of, Remo Stars, and Fidelis Ilechukwu, manager of Rangers International.
Focus on a Strong Start
With the camp open, Sunday, the team’s first training session is scheduled for Tuesday – when the full compliment of the invited players will be present.
Nigeria currently finds itself in a precarious position in the World Cup qualifying race, having failed to win any of their previous games.
With expectations mounting and pressure increasing, the Super Eagles will be determined to turn things around, starting with a strong performance against Rwanda.
