Former Nigeria international Ifeanyi Udeze has warned the Super Eagles against underrating their next 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying opponents Cape Verde.
Cape Verde is ranked 77th on current FIFA ranking, while their guest, the Super Eagles of Nigeria Nigeria is ranked 34th.
Nigeria and Cape Verde only meeting in international football was in 2013, when both side engaged in an international friendly, before the African Cup of Nations in South Africa.
The minnow held star-studded Super Eagles to goalless draw and they went on have to good outing at the Nations Cup proper.
In a chat with brila.net ahead of today’s encounter, Udeze said, Cape Verde is capable of shocking the Three time African Champions.
”Cape Verde will shock the Super Eagles if they take them for granted. We remember how Cape Verde came out and did very well a few years ago.
“It’s going to be a difficult game for the Eagles but all the same we wish them all the best.”
Meanwhile, a victory for Nigeria will strengthened their place on top of the table.
