Spanish side Leganes are sweating over the fitness of Kenneth Omeruo ahead of their 2020/21 LaLiga Smartbank season opener on Saturday.
Leganes will kick start their season with the game against Las Palmas on Friday, September 11 and Omeruo could sit out of the class after picking up an injury last weekend.
The Super Eagles star was substituted after 12 minutes in Leganes’ final pre-season against Albacete Balompie, but the club is yet to reveal details of the injury.
Omeruo is one of the key players who remain with the club, despite dropping to the lower division and the club are banking on him to help them return to the top flight division next season.
Omeruo who has featured in 51 matches across two seasons will be playing in the lower division for the first time since his loan spell with Middlesbrough in 2014.
