Super Eagles CHAN head coach, Austin Eguavoen says he expects Ghana to be a difficult opponent when the sides clash in December’s qualifiers for the 2025 African Nations Championship.

Nigeria and Ghana will go ahead to head over two legs for a place in the Championship.

Eguavoen underscored team’s objective is to return to the tournament.

“Playing Ghana in any category is always a tough fixture, so we’ll pray for luck,” the Coach said.

“We will strategize for these games to ensure we qualify for the CHAN.”

Nigeria’s last appearance in the CHAN was in 2018, where the team finished as runner’s up.

The CHAN Eagles failed to qualify for subsequent editions in 2020 and 2022 – they’ve made only three appearances since its inception in 2009.
