The chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation Technical and Development Committee, Chris Green, is confident that the Super Eagles will improve in their upcoming fixtures but says Team list will be revealed to the NFF before going out to the public.
Chris Green stated that despite Saturday’s humiliating AFCON qualifier defeat by South Africa in Uyo, Super Eagles team list will have to be reviewed by NFF’s technical committee before any final decision will be made on its publication.
The Super Eagles poor performance caused them to a 0-2 at home to Baxter’s team.
According to Gernot Rohr, his team lost to South Africa in 2019 AFCON Qualifier because his ‘experienced players’ were not in the game.
Following the outcome of the meeting held by NFF technical committee member’s at the glasshouse on Tuesday, Chairman of the NFF Technical & Development Committee, Barrister Chris Green has revealed that the essence of the meeting is to look deep into what went wrong in the game.
“We had a great meeting today and we have looked into the deficiencies that made us lose to South Africa.
“We’re surely going to rectify things and prepare harder for the remaining fixtures of the FIFA World Cup and AFCON qualifying race.
“Henceforth, members of the technical committee will have a pre-knowledge of the national team list before it will be sent to the public.
“And coach Rohr coach will also have to appear in a press conference to answer questions as regard’s further national team lists release, Green said,”.
Nigeria will play Cameroon in their next FIFA World Cup qualifying game on August 28.
