Samuel Chukwueze was involved in Villarreal’s 4 – 1 away win over Zamora CF in Spanish cup played at the Estadio Ruta Dela Plata on Tuesday.
It was an historic moment for Chukwueze, who becomes the youngest player to play 100 games for Villarreal’s first team.
The FIFA U-17 World Cup winner achieved the feat at 21 years, 7 months, 11 days, to beat the previous record set by Mateo Musacchio.
The Nigeria international, however, marked the occasion with an assist. He set up the opening goal for Colombian forward Carlos Bacca in the 31st minute.
Chukwueze was later substituted and replaced by Moi Gómez in the second half of the match.
