Chukwueze moves closer to Ike Uche’s La Liga record

Samuel Chukwueze continues his fine run of game for Villareal this season, with another appearance against Valencia on Wednesday.

The Super Eagles star featured for 82  minutes in the 1-1 draw at the Mestella.


The winger has now featured 32 league matches for the season, yellow Submarine this season.

The game takes his overall La Liga appearance to150, and becomes the fourth Nigerian with the most game in the division.

The 23-year-old is only behind the trip of Ikechukwu Uche who also played for Villareal, Mutiu Adepoju and Finidi George.

Uche who is the highest scoring Nigerian in the history of the competition with 44 goals played 193 during his spell at Recreativo, Getafe, Zaragoza, Villarreal, Granada and Málaga.

Adepoju, who featured for Racing Satender, Real Socieded and Salamanva in Spain played 175 games and Finidi, with Real Betis, Real Mallorca ( two spells) played 165 LaLiga appearances.
