Nigerian forward Samuel Chukwueze bagged an assist as Villarreal secured their first win of the season after 2 – 1 success over Eibar on Saturday.
Chukwueze retained his place in Villarreal line up for the second time but he only lasted for 83rd on the pitch for the yellow submarines.
Villarreal missed the chance to start the game on the front foot when Gerrard Moreno missed a penalty just nine minutes into the game.
The first half ended without a goal, the visitors took the lead earlier in the second half when Edu Exposito set up Kike who beat Villarreal’s goalkeeper from close range.
Villarreal reacted perfectly and it was Chukwueze who set up Gerrard Moreno for the equalizer three minutes after an hour mark.
Moreno later turned provider for former Barcelona striker Paco Alcacer who the winner for Unai Emery’s men in the 71st minutes.
Samuel Chukwueze was then replaced by Manuel Trigueros with five minutes to the end of the game.
