Villarreal has announced that winger Samuel Chukwueze has undergone a successful surgery.
The club confirmed Chukwueze had surgery to correct his groin problem on Thursday and he’s already recovering.
The surgery was performed by a German based surgeon Ulrike Muschaweck, who is renowned for treating such injuries.
“Samu Chukwueze, who was been out injured receiving treatment for discomfort in his groin, has undergone surgery this morning by Doctor Ulrike Muschaweck in Munich, hoping to definitively relieve him of said pain,” the club disclosed in a statement posted on their website.
Meanwhile Chukwueze’s teammate Rubén Peña, who also suffered muscle damage to his left hamstring Copa del Rey quarter-final against Levante UD on Wednesday, also went under the knife.
