Chukwueze’s efforts not enough to save Villarreal against Barcelona

Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze suffered an embarrassing defeat with his Club Villarreal in the hand of Barcelona on Sunday.

Samuel Chukwueze played for 74th minutes, but it was not a memorable night as they were humiliated 4-0 by Barcelona.

Chukwueze spent most of his time on the pitch tracking back to help the defense and it affected his contributions going forward before he replaced by Takefusa Kubo.

Teenagers, Ansu Fati was the star of the show as he netted a quick brace, an own goal Pau Torres also made the night complicated for Villarreal.

Barcelona captain Lionel Messi also scored from the penalty to get the Catalans to flying start in the new season.

Villareal has now suffered their first loss of the season, but they remain in eight positions on the La Liga table with four points.
