Clock ticking against Paul Onuachu at KRC Genk

Paul Onuachu, is likely to miss another chance of leaving KRC Genk to a bigger league for the third consecutive Transfer window.

Despite speaking publicly about his desire to leave the Jupiler League for bigger challenges elsewhere in Europe it appears the Striker is not catching the interests of teams like he did in the previous windows.

The Transfer buzz have gone cold from Onuachu’s camp in recent week, with few or no ‘interesting’ club wanting the Nigerian forward.

At 28, the clock is ticking against the 2020 Jupiler League golden boot winner, who still has two years on his running contract at the Cegeka Arena and this window seem like his final chance to secure a major deal.

He already boasts the most enviable of records in Belgium, but remains eager to test himself in a bigger club and better league.

It’s an understandable position when you consider the ticking clock of what is generally a short career, but that won’t make it any less gut-wrenching for the striker to try and force a move for the last time.

We will now have to wait and see whether Genk indeed receive a ‘satisfactory’ offer or not and what that might mean for the next step in Onuachu’s footballing journey.
