The quartet of Tobi Amusan, Favor Ofili, and Rosemary Chukwuma won 4x100m relay gold for Nigeria at Commonwealth games.
The quartet clocked the 42.10s to win the gold and set a new game record.
Tobi Amusan was drafted 4x100m relay teams, replacing Joy Udo-Gabriel just few minutes after winning the 100m hurdle gold and the decision proved to be the right one.
The world champion started the lead leg and handed the baton over to Commonwealth game silver medalist Favour Ofili for the second leg.
Rosemary Chukwuma took the bend and Grace Nwokocha anchored the team home.
In the Men’s version, team Nigeria finished on the podium, but picked bronze medal in the men’s 4×100 metres event.
Meanwhile, in the Women’s Long jump final event, Ese Brume won gold setting a Games record of 7.00m and in her final jump to hand Team Nigeria its last medal as the curtains came down in Birmingham.
