Super Eagles Left back, Elderson Echiejile has expressed his readiness to fight for his shirt in the Super Eagles squad ahead of the FIFA 2018 world cup in Russia.

The on-loan AS Monaco defender spoke with Brila.net’s Anthony Bekederemo aftermath of the Eagles whipping of the La Albiceleste of Argentina in the city of Krasnodar, Russia.

In a chat with www.brila.net, Elderson affirmed that It is good for the team to have players who can come in when certain first-team lads are unavailable.

“I think it’s good to have capable replacement in the team, it’s a good thing to know that the structure of the team is still there despite missing out on certain players,” Echiejile told www.brila.net

The 29-year-old former FC Braga of Portugal left-back also maintained that “competition is the nicest thing to be happening right now on the team, it keeps everyone on their toes” said Echiejile.

Echiejile was last in action for the Eagles in the game against Zambia where he sustained a knee injury that kept him out of action for over a month.

The Sivasspor full-back has however confirmed his return to full training and his availability for team selection in the coming fixtures in the Turkish super lig.
