Manu Garba’s Golden Eaglet’s has left out influential midfielder Olaniyan Alfred from the final list of players for the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil.
It was reported that the player failed to recover from the knee injury he sustained while training with the rest of the sqaud in Abuja.
The technical crew confirmed 17-year-old Olaniyan Alfred that injury ruled out the player for coming World Cup in Brazil; but some reports coming from the team’s camp had it that he was excluded deu to age concern.
Olaniyan was key to Golden Eaglet’s triumph at the ‘WAFU B Zone Tournament’ which his team won in Niger Republic in October 2018, contributing two goals and 3 three assist, which earned Nigeria qualification for the CAF U17 AFCON in Tanzania.
The little midfielder impressed during Golden Eaglet’s pre-tournament preparation at the UEFA Assist Tournament earlier this year, in Turkey, with one goal and two assist.
Meanwhile, Golden Eaglet’s players and some officials departed Abuja on Wednesday, 9th October for Sao Paulo, Brazil to settle down just before the start of the world cup billed for 26th October 2019.
