Crotone’s sporting director Giuseppe Ursino admits Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo could leave the lub following their relegation from Serie A.

Crotone’s immediate relegation to Serie B was confirmed following their 1-0 home defeat to new champions Inter Milan on Saturday.

Simy Nwankwo remains the only shining light from Crotone’s poor campaign with the Nigeria international scoring nineteen goals in the league.

The 28-year-old has been linked with a move elsewhere and the Sharks’ relegation sealed over the weekend, Ursino believes Simy Nwankwo is too good to go down with the club.

“He has grown a lot over the years, this year out of the ordinary.

“He can easily stay in Serie A, in a medium-high range,” Ursino said on TMW Radio.

“He seems awkward but it’s not like that, he’s right when he says he’s made that way but the ball puts it in.

“He’s very intelligent and never gets depressed.

“I’ve seen him over the years, from the first minute of Crotone he had certain ambitions and for me, he will succeed”. He said.

Meanwhile, Genoa, Sampdoria, Lazio, Milan, and Udinese have reportedly shown interest in the striker.
