Super Falcons coach Thomas Dennerby has hailed the Nigeria women national team for a spirited effort despite losing 1-0 to host nation France in the team’s final group stage game at the ongoing FIFA women’s world cup.
Dennerby speaking in a chat gathered by www.brila.net after the game described the Falcons players as “heroes” despite losing the game 1-0.
He also expressed strong reservation on the handling of the match by Honduran referee Melissa Borjas who was at the center of the storm during the game and believed France shouldn’t have been aided in anyway by the officials.
“I wouldn’t want to say anything about the penalty else I would be sent home from here. My players are heroes and I believe France been a good side shouldn’t have been aided in the game.
