Emmanuel Dennis scored his first goal for FC Cologne in the DFB Pokal round of 16 match against Jahn Regensburg on Wednesday night.
Dennis, who joined the club on loan from Belgian side Club Brugge, and was handed his first start in the Cup.
Ismail Jakobs put Cologne ahead in the 4th minute, before setting up Dennis for the side’s second in the 22nd minute.
Jahn Regensburg fought back to draw level before the half time break as Scott Kennedy and Jan George scored twice in the 32nd and 44th minutes.
Dennis missed a golden chance put Cologne back in front as he was unable to convert 88th penalty awarded to his side.
The Super Eagles forward was later replaced by his compatriot Tolu Arokodare six minutes into extra-time.
Dennis’ penalty miss proved costly as Cologne lost to Jahn Regensburg 4-3 on penalties.
