Dessers coy on Interest from Club Brugge

Cyriel Dessers is back at Genk after for pre-season, but his future hasn’t been sorted.

The striker enjoyed a successful spell with Feyenoord last season, scoring 21 goals in 42 games.

The Dutch side made an attempt to keep the 27 year-old striker on a permanent deal, but failed to reach an agreement with Gent over the transfer fee.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian has been linked with interests from several Clubs this summer including Belgian Jupiler league giants Club Brugge.

In an interview with Belgian press, Dessers said the whole situation is out of his hands, but he’ll remain calm.

“At the moment my only concern is to stay fit and focus on the first competition match of Genk. Club Brugge. The rest is beyond my control,” Dessers told Het Belang van Limburg .

“I’ll see what comes. I will deal with that situation calmly. After eight years of professional football, I have already seen and experienced a lot.”

“You can actually plan nothing as a football player. It is important that you do not let yourself be fooled, because of that situation,” Dessers explained.
