Super Eagles forward Cyril Dessers is adamant that himself and compatriot Paul Onuachu can play together in the same attack for KRC Genk.
Dessers and Onuachu started for Genk and both scored a goal each to help the former Belgian champions to 4-0 success over Eupen at the Litmus Arena on Friday.
The Super Eagles striker started the campaign together upfront, but Dessers lost his place in the team, while Onuachu continued to flourish.
The former FC Midtjylland of Denmark striker has scored ten goals this season and always preferred to lead the attack by the coach.
Dessers has now revealed, he linked up well with the big forward from day one and their contributions against Eupen was another evidence of the understanding.
“From the start that I was here, it clicked well with Paul. We really do not feel each other as competitors.”
“After a hesitant start, we have proven today that we can mean something to each other on the field,” he said.
