Dessers vows to build on his goal against Eupen

Genk forward Cyriel Dessers is elated to back on the score sheet after weeks without a goal.

Dessers started the season like house on fire, scoring in his first game for the club, but he suffered deep in form and later lost his place in the starting eleven.

However he was back in the line up against Eupen and the former Heracles striker grabbed his chance with both hands by scoring Genk’s second goal.

Dessers combined with his international teammates Paul Onuachu who set him up for the goal.

The 25 year-old however admitted that he missed being among the goal scorer and he hope to build on his current form and get more goals for his boyhood club.

“It was nice to be on the score sheet again this weekend. I felt it’s been a long time coming for me and I hope to build on this goal in my subsequent matches,” the former Heracles Almelo striker told AOIFootball.

The Belgian-born Dessers has been involved in eight matches for Genk this season, he has score three goal and recorded one assist.
