Dr. Izamoje Lauds NFF over 2018 FIFA World Cup Program

The 2018 FIFA World Cup program by the NFF has been lauded by Brila Media CEO, Dr. Larry Izamoje who says the FA leadership have their “Thinking Caps on.”

Dr. Izamoje, who was a member of the 2010 World Cup task force, drew similarities between the Nigeria’s program for the tournament in South Africa and current blueprint put forward by Gernot Rohr and his technical crew.

The Super Eagles will carry out two phase of camping in Abuja and Uyo (Phase I 22nd-30th May) and Vienna, Austria (Phase II 3rd-11th June).

Five friendly matches have also been lined up for the team – four will be against European oppositions.

Also the team will face DR Congo in one of the pre-tournament warm up games and a yet to be decided South American team may also be named in a friendly on 9 June.

LIST OF FRIENDLIES

Poland on 23rd March in Warsaw
Friendly match against Serbia on 27th March in London
Friendly match against England on 2nd June in London
Friendly match against Czech Republic on 6th June in Austria

According to Dr. Izamoje, the selection of the European countries may be because Rohr hopes to get two wins in the Super Eagles first set of group matches.

Nigeria open it’s world cup campaign against Croatia, then Iceland before they wrap up the group stage matches against Argentina.
