Dream team VI Star keen on AS Roma Return

Former Nigeria U23 Striker, Sadiq Umar hopes to get a fresh start with Italian giants, AS Roma under new Manager Eusebio Di Francesco after an injury-ladened loan spell at Bologna.

The 20-year-old Umar, was Nigeria’s joint top scorer at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, where the Dream Team VI won Bronze, but his return to club football was marred by a lengthy six month spell on sidelines at Bologna.

But, fully recovered now the player says he’s keen on returning to regular action and looks forward to joining up with AS Roma in pre season per Ade Emmanuel [owngoalnigeria]

Umar spoke with Kaduna-based Radio host, Mohammed Suleiman and revealed his next move.

He said,”My loan spell with Bologna didn’t go too well. Injuries slowed me down, I’m fully fit now and back at Roma. Hopefully I will travel to team up with them for pre season”

“There’s a new coach at Roma and that means a fresh start for everybody, I’m eager, fully fit and rearing to prove my worth to him if given the chance in pre season.”

Sadiq Umar featured only seven times for I Rossoblu last season but did not register a goal as the club finished in 15th position.
