Captain of Nigeria’s senior basketball national team Ike Diogu has stated that he wants to make the most of the opportunity he has now with Nigeria ahead of the fast approaching FIBA world cup in China.
Diogu speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said the world cup means a lot to him after been unable to make the 2014 basketball world cup due to Nigeria’s inability to qualify in 2013.
He added that he believes Nigeria’s D’Tigers do have what it takes to go as as far as they want to go in the tournament in China.
“It means a lot, I worked really hard to get here, fell short in 2013 and luckily by the grace of God I was given another chance and I plan to take full advantage of this opportunity and we can go as far as we want to go but we just have to take it one game at a time and not get too ahead of ourselves and just go our and play Nigerian basketball.”
